Belfast weather: Cold with sunny spells throughout the day

It is set to be dry and sunny throughout the day today, although it will be quite cold.

Met Office forecasters have given their predictions for the weather in Belfast on Tuesday, December 22, saying that it will be a largely sunny and dry day with temperatures at around three and four degrees.

There will be less than a five per cent chance of rain for most of the day, although there is a possibility of some rainy spells later tonight.

The sun will rise at 8.45am and set at 4pm.

The Met Office said: "The majority will stay dry today with plenty of bright or sunny spells, though these turning hazy as higher cloud spreads from the south. However a few isolated light showers will crop up around the far north and west.

"Most staying dry (tonight), however cloud thickening to bring the chance of some patchy rain to Down and Belfast towards dawn. Light winds. Slight frost possible for coldest northern parts."

The Met Office has predicted that tomorrow will be a cloudier but dry day, with temperatures remaining low.

It said: "By morning to northwest of Lough Neagh mainly dry with some hazy brighter spells, while southeast stays rather cloudy with chance patchy light rain in Down. Turning brighter through afternoon."
