Belfast weather: Cloudy and wet ahead of a warmer weekend

It is set to be cloudy and wet throughout Friday ahead of a much warmer weekend.

The Met Officer forecasters have given their predictions for Friday, May 28, saying that it is going to be cloudy and overcast throughout the day with long spells of rains that will dry up later in the evening.

The temperature will stay fairly steady with highs of 16 degrees and lows of 11.

The sun rose at 4.59am and will set at 9.43pm.

The Met Office said: "A cloudy day with some light rain or drizzle at times. Low cloud bringing some hill fog and perhaps some coastal mist or fog along North Channel coasts. Light winds, and a rather humid feel in west.

"Staying cloudy and damp with some light rain and drizzle. Becoming misty, with fog lingering on high ground and around the North Channel Coast."

Saturday will start off quite overcast before clearing into a much sunnier day with temperatures reaching 20 degrees and this continuing into Sunday.

The Met Office said: "A dull damp start then brightening up through the day with some good spells of sunshine. A warmer day, Perhaps some coastal mist on Down Coast, Maximum temperature 20 °C."
