Belfast weather: Bright and dry start with rain later in the day

It is set to be a bright and dry start to the day before cloud and rain later in the evening.

The Met Office forecasters have given their predictions for Saturday, March 27, saying that there will be sunny spells in the morning with the day becoming cloudier after midday.

Rain is expected at around 5pm, which will dry up before further downpours overnight and stronger winds.

The sun will rise at 6.10am and set at 6.50pm and the maximum temperature will be 10 degrees .

A Met Office spokesperson said: "A bright morning with some sunshine, still the odd shower at first in north. Becoming cloudier in the afternoon with rain spreading from the west later. Strengthening south to southwesterly breeze.

"(Tonight) Cloudy with outbreaks of rain, this heavy at times, accompanied by strong southwesterly winds. Northern counties probably becoming drier for a time overnight."

The cloudy and rainy weather is set to continue into Sunday with showers being predicted throughout the day, although it will be a few degrees warmer.

The Met Office said: "A cloudy day with outbreaks of rain or drizzle. Fresh to strong southwesterly winds. Becoming milder. Maximum temperature 13 °C."
