Belfast traffic: Disruption warning as Gerry Cinnamon plays Belsonic in Ormeau Park

Road users are being advised to anticipate some traffic disruption this evening due to a concert at Ormeau Park.

Belsonic has returned to the park, with Gerry Cinnamon taking to the stage this evening, and those travelling in South and East Belfast should prepare for traffic in the immediate area.

Ormeau Embankment is now closed to through traffic from the Ormeau Road junction, to the Ravenhill Road junction until midnight.

Coaches and buses transporting people to the Belsonic concert will be facilitated by approaching the embankment from the Ormeau Road junction.

Concert goers are being urged to consider using public transport, and if you are arranging collection by private car or taxi after the event, please agree your collection points well away from the venue and please respect local residents.

To help music lovers travel safely Translink are operating a special shuttle bus (service 678) between Belfast City Centre and Ormeau Park on all Belsonic concert dates from 5.30pm to 11.15pm.

Meanwhile, late evening Nightmover services will depart at 11.30pm from Belfast City Centrel (standard fares apply - £2.50 adult cash single, Metro Extended Zone multi-journey card, DayLink and Metro Travelcard accepted).

Glider users can get home using standard late evening Glider G1 services which will operate serving McKinstry Road departing May Street and Dundonald Park & Ride departing Wellington Place.

For those wishing to make it home via train, there are a number of additional services will operate from Belfast Lanyon Place, including:

• 11.40pm to Portadown stopping at Lisburn, Moira, Lurgan and Portadown

• 11.40pm to Bangor stopping at Holywood, Bangor West and Bangor

• 11.47pm to Coleraine stopping at Mossley West, Antrim, Ballymena, Cullybackey, Ballymoney and Coleraine.
