Belfast Theatre Company's hard-hitting production urges more to talk about male violence against women

A Belfast based Theatre Company have created an audio journey to attempt to keep the conversation going around male violence against women.

The work from Three's Theatre Company, was developed following a series of recent events creating a national conversation about male violence and women's safety, including the recent case of 33-year-old Sarah Everard who was allegedly murdered by a man as she walked home.

The hard-hitting piece of audio entitled, 'I believe her' was created by an all-female team across Ireland and they are urging everyone to listen.

A spokesperson for the company said: We are inviting audiences to take a 30 minute walk with a friend, put on their headphones, click on the link and press play at the same time. Then afterwards discuss their experience, we are particularly interested in women sharing this experience with men in their life, and men sharing it with other men. We want this piece to spark a conversation around allyship and how harmful the “not all men” conversation is.

"Three’s Theatre Company felt impassioned to create the ‘I believe her’  audio journey to let women know their voices are being heard and to create allyship amongst men."

The project is funded through a JustGiving page and the company are encouraging those who listen to donate and spread the word. All monies raised will help fund the artists involved and support future, similar projects.
