City Way in Belfast has reopened after a security alert last night.
Homes were evacuated on Saturday night in the south of the city, after the discovery of a suspicious object.
Inspector Eastwood said: “Shortly after 8:35pm, it was reported that a suspicious object was located in the area. ATO were tasked to the scene and the object was declared a hoax.
“A number of homes were evacuated as police carried out a public safety operation. Residents returned to their home and police would like to thank them for their patience during this incident.”
