Belfast stabbings: Police release image of man they are “urgently seeking to identify”

Police investigating a series of attacks on women in Belfast have released an image of a man they are “urgently seeking to identify”.

The picture appears to be a still from CCTV footage it is understood detectives have been trawling through.

In a brief statement released on Wednesday morning, a PSNI spokesman said: “Detectives investigating a series of attacks on women in the Belfast area on Monday 12 October 2020 are urgently seeking to identify the male in this image to assist them with their enquiries.

“Any information can be provided to Detectives at Musgrave CID quoting reference 1886 of 12/10/20. Alternatively, information can also be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

The image shows a male on a bike which is consistent with reports of the attacks since they occurred.
