Belfast smoke coming from bonfire site, say Fire Service

Black smoke billowing across Belfast is coming from a bonfire site, according to the Fire Service.

Locals have taken to social media to ask if it originated in Ormeau or the Ravenhill Road area.

Pictures of the smoke have been posted on social media from all angles.

Some show it over Ormeau Park and the Cregagh Road.

A Fire Service spokesperson said they were called out to the blaze on Lismore Street around 8.05pm.

They sent one appliance to check it.

"We attended a bonfire site on Lismore Street. It has been dealt with," they added.
