ScamwiseNI have revealed a cunning scheme by a worker to defraud her company of money while still getting paid for working in the shop.
The woman worker fleeced the Belfast retailer of £3,500 in just a few months.
A spokesperson for ScamwiseNI said: "She’d been purchasing items online and then bringing them into the store to get a refund."
However she neglected to hand over the items despite paying the money back on to her store account.
A spokesperson said: "She paid the refunded money to her own store account and kept the items and she did this to the value of £3,500. Pretty clever…until she got caught. Sometimes the scammer is right under our noses."
