Belfast shop worker "badly shaken" after man in 20s 'robs' money from till

A Belfast city centre shop worker has been left "badly shaken" after a man in his 20s 'robbed' money from the till.

Police are appealing for information about the incident at a convenience store on High Street on Wednesday evening (Feb 26).

The culprit is described as slim and wearing a green jacket, jeans and a woollen hat.

Detective Sergeant Wilson said: “Shortly after 6.05pm, it was reported that a man entered a convenience shop in the area. He approached a nearby till and took out a sum of money during the incident.

"He is believed to have made off towards the Royal Avenue area following the robbery .

"A female member who was inside the shop at the time was not injured, but left badly shaken during the incident.

"The male is described as being of slim build, aged in his late 20s and wearing a green zipped up jacket, blue jeans and a woollen hat.

"Enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious during the incident to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 1509 26/02/20."
