A man has been shot and critically wounded in an attack in north Belfast on Sunday night.
The victim, who is in his 50s, was shot in the face in an attack by two gunmen on St James Mews, off the Antrim Road, at around 9pm.
He is believed to have been a pizza delivery man and was named by locals as Dan Murray.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland have now sealed off the area around the shooting and a spokesman appealed for information about the shooting.
“A man in his 50s was shot in the face by two males at around 9pm this evening and has been taken to hospital where he is said to be in serious condition,” the police spokesman said.
The shooting was the second violent incident in north Belfast within a matter of hours.
Earlier on Sunday another man in his 50s was rushed to hospital after sustaining injuries to his head and leg following an attack in the Brae Hill Park area of Ballysillan. It is unclear if the incidents are linked.
