Belfast's Kelly's Cellars and Blackbird in Derry named among the UK's best pubs

With pubs and bars across Northern Ireland getting back to business, you'll want to have the best experience with top notch service and great reviews.

But have you ever wondered what the best bars are in Belfast and Derry?

Well, according to a new survey Kelly's Cellars is the most loved pub in Belfast.

Found on Bank Street, Kelly's needs no introduction, as it's already famed as one of Belfast's most well-known bars.

Established in 1720, Kelly’s Cellars has become a famous establishment known worldwide as a hub of tradition, heart and a good pint of Guinness.

In recent years, the square outside of Kelly's Cellars has undergone a major renovation, meaning that this isn't just a brilliant indoor pub, but an excellent space for outdoor drinking so it really is an all-round winner.

According to a new study, a list of the top 30 pubs and bars in the UK has been determined – using customer reviews to decide which venues top the charts.

And, using this method, one of Belfast city centre's most iconic buildings has been named among the very best.

While it came in at 27th place, it is one of only two pubs in Northern Ireland to make the list.

Just behind in 28th position is the Blackbird pub on Foyle Street in Derry.

A firm local and visitor favourite, the Blackbird is located a few doors up from the iconic Sandinos Bar. It is a fantastic and comfortable setting ideal for socialising with friends over a range of cocktails or a simple pint.

The survey was carried out by pub games and arcade retailer Liberty Games, who used TripAdvisor's number one rated pub or bar in every city and ranked them by the number of five star reviews.

The top location in the UK was Bistrot Pierre in central Birmingham while Scarlett Green in London's Soho came in second place while in third was the avant-garde cocktail bar and restaurant, Lost and Found in Leeds.

When it comes to the other top spots, there are a variety of options across the UK including traditional taverns like The Walrus in Brighton, all the way through to modern bars such as The Alchemist Oxford and Revolution Hockley in Nottingham.
