Belfast's best Mexican eateries to help you celebrate National Tequila Day

It's National Tequila Day, so it's as good a time as any to have a look at Belfast's best Mexican offerings.

Here are some of the best.

Tuck in to delicious Mexican fare, and treat yourself to a cheeky tequila while you're at it...

La Taqueria

Located on Belfast's Castle Street , La Taqueria offers an authentic Mexican experience.

Up a winding staircase to the cosy restaurant, with tones of traditional pink, yellow and blue, the mood is set on arrival.

As well as a great view into the cool open kitchen, you'll see a delicious array of margaritas, mezcales, beers and the all-important tequilas on offer.

The restaurant's name translates as taco bar, and that's what La Taqueria does to perfection. Enjoy.

Acapulco

Based in Belfast's trendy Ballyhackamore area , Acapulco offers delicious Mexican recipes compiled by the 12 Mexican chefs who have worked with the restaurant over the years.

Dishes are packed with fresh and healthy vegetables and lean meats, prepared every day.

And on the all-important drinks front, Acapulco has some great margarita offerings and a fab selection of Mexican beers.

You can also try Mexico's No1 soft drink Jarritos in fancy flavours like guava, mango and lime to name a few.

El Chapo

The Stranmillis eatery specialises in tacos and tapas - as well as a fabulous range of tequila.

With margarita cocktails and Mexican beers available it's a treat of a night out.

And on National Tequila Day, it'd be rude not to.

Boojum

It's the street food phenomenon that took Belfast by storm.

And in the years it's been going, it's approach has barely changed. Line up, order your grub and chow down.

With a selection of burritos, tacos and a small number of street dishes on offer, it's a winning formula that's worked a treat so far.

There's beer and cider on offer, but you'll need to get your tequila somewhere else...

Taquitos

The Belfast Food Truck based down near the Big Fish has been a huge hit.

Authentic Mexican tacos and tostados , gluten free hand-pressed tortillas and fabulous vegan-friendly options, it's a great go-to for an on-the-go treat.

And with the ever-growing trend for street food a winning formula, the guys at Taquitos are playing a blinder down at Donegall Quay.
