Belfast Royal Academy sends year group home after positive coronavirus test

A Belfast school has been forced to send a whole year group home today after it is a pupil tested positive for Covid-19.

Belfast Royal Academy confirmed on Thursday morning that a member of the school community had tested positive for the virus.

As a precaution one year group at the school on Cliftonville Road, in the north of the city, has been sent home.

A statement issued to Belfast Live by the school read: "A member of the school community has tested positive and we have taken the precaution of sending one year group home for the day to enable us to trace close contacts.

"Therefore, we anticipate that the majority of pupils will be back to school tomorrow."
