Belfast Road security alert ends as suspected WWII round discovered

A suspected WWII training round has been found during a security alert in Co Antrim.

The Belfast Road, Crumlin , was closed for several hours between the junctions with the Nutts Corner Roundabout and the Seven Mile Straight following the discovery of a suspicious object.

After examination by ATO a police spokesperson said: "The security alert at the Belfast Road area of Crumlin is over.

"ATO attended the scene and removed what is believed to be a WWII training round."

The road has since reopened.
