Belfast road affected by potholes reported to Department for Infrastructure

A councillor has warned drivers to be careful on a busy North Belfast road due to a series of large potholes.

The Upper Crumlin Road has been causing problems for motorists for several months, according to the DUP's Dale Pankhurst.

The potholes are understood to have been filled in recently but have re-emerged and have been raised as a matter of urgency with the Department for Infrastructure (DfI).

Councillor Pankhurst explained: "I would urge people to exercise caution when approaching this stretch of road.

"It has been persistent in giving motorists problems for months now.

"I have raised this as an urgent job with the Department for Infrastructure.

"Given the continued re-occurrence of potholes at this section of road, it seems there is a more serious underlying problem to this.

"I’ve asked DfI to investigate this urgently before a motorist is seriously injured or worse.”
