Belfast restaurants: Ten of the best 'cheap eats' in Belfast according to Tripadvisor

There is an abundance of tasty restaurants and cafés across Belfast.

Some weekends you can end up spending a fortune if eating out without even realising, but this doesn't have to always be the case.

Tripadvisor has put together the best 'cheap eats' in Belfast which range from American, Indian, Italian and traditional cuisines.

Here's some that are top of the list, perfect for popping in for a quick bite when out and about this weekend.

Bites of India

An Indian restaurant based on the Ravenhill Road, serving fiery curries to piquant kormas and tandoori specialities.

Open Tuesday to Sunday and you can also bring your own bottle.

The Dock

This café at the Titanic Quarter features a lovely outdoor area, is dog friendly and has a new prayer garden.

It's open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 11am to 3.30 pm.

Alan's Causeway C afé

A breakfast, brunch and lunch restaurant situated on the Donegall Road and open from 8am to 2pm.

If you are just visiting NI, they ask you to try a traditional Belfast Breakfast, aka the Ulster Fry.

Kelly's Cellars

This Irish bar on Bank Street in the city centre has made the cheap eats list, but reiterates it is not a restaurant.

They serve bowls of Irish stew only.

The Coffee House Bistro

A coffee shop based on the Stewartstown Road in West Belfast, famous for a good fry, pancakes, sodas and hangover cures.

Maggie May's, Castle Street, Botanic and Stranmillis

Three of these popular cafés got a spot in the top ten.

It's a local family run chain which offers great value breakfasts, lunches and dinners along with artisan coffees, custom made milkshakes and sweet treats.

Tribal Burger

Casual food with one at Botanic Avenue and one based on Callender Street.

Well known for it's tasty wings, burgers, fries and shakes and say the are about "fun dining, not fine dining."

Little Italy

This takeaway was established in 1994 and is on Blackstaff Square on the corner between The Crown Bar and Fibber Magees.

Very well-known for its thin and crispy pizzas which are made right in front of you and is open everyday from 5pm to late.

Mad Hatter C afé

This family-owned café is on Eglantine Avenue, just off the Lisburn Road.

It serves cooked breakfasts, hearty home cooked meals and sweet treats,

West Gourmet Sandwich Bar

This coffee shop is in North City Business Park on the Duncairn Gardens, popular with hungry shoppers, workers and tourists.

Serves gourmet sandwiches, wraps, salads, great coffee and breakfasts.
