Belfast restaurant's plea over customers bringing lateral flow tests to door

A popular Belfast pub and restaurant has begged customers to stop bringing lateral flow tests to the door calling them "a literal snot box".

The 'horrified' management team at Horatio Todd's, in the east of the city, issued their plea on Facebook on Saturday night and asked people to register the lateral flow and show the email on the door instead.

The enforcement of domestic Covid-19 vaccination certificates will begin on Monday, December 13.

Covid certification requires proof of full vaccination status, or a negative Lateral Flow Test in the previous 48 hours, or proof of recovery from a positive PCR test in the previous 30 – 180 days.

Domestic certificates were introduced on November 29 and will be enforceable on December 13.

This means hospitality venues will ask for evidence of your vaccination status.

A negative lateral flow antigen test within the previous 48 hours m ust be registered on NHS site as a negative test. Email or text alongside photo ID is required.

In a post of their Facebook page, the popular pub and restaurant said: "Guys, just a quick one…

"Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please DO NOT bring the lateral flow test itself down to Todd’s. That is a literal snot box you are carrying you absolute weapons.

"Register it and bring the email please. It takes two seconds. Much love and festive cheer, The Horrified Management Team."
