Belfast has been crowned the UK's top city for PDAs, a new report has found.
When it comes to public displays of affection, it seems our city's folks are the most daring.
Online greetings card company T hortful surveyed 2000 UK citizens to reveal the most prudish and promiscuous areas, to uncover not only the PDAs we feel most uncomfortable witnessing, but what they’re also guilty of getting up to in public (and how many have been caught in the act).
The survey ranked cities on a "risqué rating" between 0 and 10, and the closer to 0 the more risque the city.
With a "risqué rating" of 0.5, Belfast joined cities such as Cardiff and Edinburgh in the lower end of the scale, but with our favoured affection being a good old snog.
Whilst 15% of those surveyed in Belfast admitted to having sex in public, the findings revealed that kissing is our PDA of choice.
However, a high rate of pecks in public doesn't mean that we all love to see it happen. The report, carried out in July, found that Belfast was one of the most prudish cities in the UK.
With a "prudish score" of 0.9, we're second only to Edinburgh in being less than comfortable with witnessing public displays of affection.
Meanwhile Newcastle comes in second place with Geordies showing they are no prudes with 1 in 10 having partaken in foreplay in the great outdoors.
Southampton have revealed their sentimental side with hugs being their preferred PDA, whilst those in Leeds favour holding hands (cute!).
And with the ‘Eat out to help out scheme’ starting in August, it’s good news for Sheffield locals who prefer feeding their partner.
The most risque of the generations? Perhaps surprisingly, it's actually those aged 35-54, with Generation X being the most likely to flaunt their affections in public.
Whether you’re guilty of them or not, Belfast shows how a decent snog can be the greatest way to show off your love.
