Belfast PTs share simple workout perfect for getting back on track after Christmas

Christmas is all about indulging and enjoying all of the festive treats on offer.

Many of us end up feeling quite bloated and sluggish after this, and even more now that gyms are closed.

Belfast PTs John and Danielle Neill, owners of Dedicated Fitness, have shared an easy 30 minute workout you can do from the comfort of your own home.

In the HIIT workout below, Danielle demonstrates each exercise, and how long to do each for.

This will help you get back on track and feel good.

John has also shared some top tips with Be to help burn fat

1. Running early in the morning with an empty stomach can help you burn more calories. Have a black coffee before your run as caffeine helps also to burn fat and increase energy.

2. Reduce your carbs in the evenings. You don’t need as much energy then, so use them during the day instead of in the evening when you are likely to be sitting in front of the TV.

3. Replace sugar cravings with fruit.

4. HIIT training and uphill sprints are great for burning fat.

For example

  • 10 second sprints
  • 10 to 15 seconds rest
  • Repeat 8 to 10 times

This is a quick and effective way to burn fat if you are stuck for time.

5. Around 45 minutes of exercise is plenty. Don’t over do it - just make the most of your time doing high intensity with very little rest - and you can burn up to 400 to 500 calories at home.
