Belfast PSNI to start posting photos of people wanted for bench warrants on Facebook

Police say they will publish photos of people wanted on bench warrants to their Facebook pages in a new campaign.

'Operation Relentless' will be rolled out next week across all PSNI Facebook pages in the Belfast area.

Chief Inspector Gavin Kirkpatrick said the new campaign is "a bid to locate individuals who have failed to turn up at court and are wanted for criminal offences".

He added: “The service we provide is victim focused and Operation Relentless is another tool to help us achieve effective and timely resolutions for victim of crime.

“Images of offenders will appear on Befast PSNI Facebook pages over the coming weeks. We ask anyone with information that can help us locate the individuals, not to post on our social media, but to contact us directly by phoning 101.

“In relation to the images we will release, we have pursued every reasonable option to locate the individuals and would encourage anyone with an outstanding warrant to contact us directly on 101 or through their solicitor.

“We hope that our local communities will support us during Operation Relentless so that we can assist speedy justice for victims.”
