Police are investigating after a 12-year-old boy had money stolen from him in West Belfast.

A male suspect made off on foot after the incident in the Cluain Mor area on Saturday at around 7pm.

The suspect was described as wearing a "black snood wearing a black hooded top with the hood pulled up".

A PSNI spokesman said: "Woodbourne LPT officers are appealing for witnesses to a theft involving a child victim yesterday evening in the Cluain Mor area of Belfast.

"A sum of money was stolen from a 12-year-old boy at approximately 1900 hours by a male suspect who made off on foot.

"Were you in the area at this time? Perhaps you have dashcam footage and may have captured a male described as being approximately 5ft 11" in height, skinny build with his face covered by a black snood wearing a black hooded top with the hood pulled up, black tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.

"If you believe you can help us with our enquiries please contact Woodbourne Police by calling 101 and quote serial 1668 of 01/02/2020.

"Help us to catch this coward who felt it was acceptable to steal from a child! Let's work together to keep our local communities safe."
