Belfast PSNI car chase after vehicle 'decides to make off'

Police on patrol in North Belfast chased a car after the vehicle 'made off' from them.

Members of the Auto Crime Team were on Cliftonpark Avenue in the city when the incident occurred.

Officers pursued the vehicle, with it coming to an end on the Shankill Road.

A police spokesperson said: "Earlier today the Auto Crime Team were on patrol on Cliftonpark Avenue when this vehicle decided to make off from them.

"After a short pursuit the vehicle was abandoned on the Shankill Road with the driver now arrested for a number of driving offences."
