Belfast Pride awards and launch at City Hall

With backing from BBC NI, the PSNI and UTV as well more than 100 other organisations, the parade for this year's Belfast Pride is set to be a biggie.

But that's not all that's coming up, with a range of fab events coming up over the next 10 days - and it all kicks off tonight.

The Official Belfast Pride Launch and Awards is happening at Belfast City Hall on Friday July 26.

Organisers said "what better place to formally launch this year's festival and celebrate the start of ten packed days of events than the centre of political power in Belfast."

As well as the launch, the event will move on to the Belfast Pride Community Awards, highlighting the work that community groups have done through the year to support the city's LGBT+ people.

Hosts Matthew Cavan and Sonya Mac will guide guests through a range of awards, including community support groups, politics, entertainment and business.

Last year's parade attracted 55,000 people and organisers hope the event will be bigger and better than ever in 2019.
