Belfast men to hold Full Monty event in aid of Cost of Living support group

A group of Belfast men are preparing to strip down in aid of others in a special Full Monty show in aid of a Cost of Living support group.

The group have been training over the past few weeks in order to get in shape and learn their routine for the show at the Shorts Club, Holywood Road on Friday, June 16, which is hoping to raise funds for Help is at hand for those in need NI, a support group dedicated to helping those who are struggling with the rising cost of living.

The show will feature local men Mark John Oglvie, Jason Brotherston , Bailey Davidson, David Collins, Russell and James Gardiner, who are up for the task of stripping down to help those in need in their community.

Speaking to Belfast Live, one of the participants, Russell Gardiner said that while he is a bit nervous about the event, he is looking forward to having a good time in aid of a great cause.

He said: "I am not quite sure how my brother and I have managed to get involved in this but now we have said we are going to do it and we can't turn back now.

"I have never done anything like this before so it is very out of my comfort zone but I know that it will be a really good night and lots of fun as we try to raise a bit of money to help others.

"Sapphire, who has been teaching us our routine, has been amazing and we just all hope that we are able to do her justice on the night."

Tickets for the over 18s event cost £10 and it will be hosted by Sabrina Bewitched, with organisers inviting everyone down for a night of fun and laughter.

Help is at hand for those in need NI is an online support group with over 12,000 members and also has a premises off the Belmont Road where people can drop off items or seek help or advice if they are struggling.

It is run by a group of hardworking volunteers who dedicate their free time to helping others who are struggling with the cost of living crisis by providing food, clothing and support with gas and electricity to anyone who has fallen on difficult times.
