A Belfast man has been banned from keeping animals for 15 years after council officials found the partially skeletonised remains of a dog at his home.
A number of dead and 153 ‘suffering’ pigeons were also found in Harry Todd’s North Belfast home.
He was convicted of four offences, and sentenced to a five month sentence, suspended for 12 months.
The case was taken by Belfast City Council after a report from a concerned member of the public.
Animal welfare officers attended the house in Joanmount Park with a vet on November 2 2017, and found the partially skeletonised remains of a dog.
While there, they found the dead pigeons and 153 deemed to be suffering.
Mr Todd was ordered to pay costs of £79.
