A Belfast man is to stand trial accused of intimidating females into sexual activity, a judge ordered on Thursday.
Matthew Hugh McMahon also allegedly incited a girl under 18 to be involved in pornography.
The 27-year-old, of Meadowbank Place in the city’s Village district, appeared before Belfast Magistrates Court to face a total of 30 charges.
They include causing two complainants to engage in sexual activity by force, threats or menace, and similar alleged attempts against two others.
McMahon is further accused of harassment, causing one female to pose naked on a webcam, and have another take and send naked pictures of herself.
The case against him also involves multiple counts of possessing indecent photographs of a child and having an extreme pornographic image.
The alleged offences were committed over a period from January 2011 to August 2015. During a preliminary enquiry hearing McMahon confirmed he understood the charges against him.
He declined to call witnesses or give evidence at this stage and did not contest prosecution submissions he has a prima facie case to answer.
On that basis Deputy District Judge McCourt granted an application to have him returned for Crown Court trial.
Releasing McMahon on £500 bail, Mr McCourt told him: “You will be advised of a date for your arraignment.”
