Belfast makeup artist's favourite affordable products proving you don't need to spend a fortune

A North Belfast makeup artist has shared her favourite makeup products that can all be bought on a budget.

Aine Knocker loves all things makeup and has been painting flawless faces for over five years.

She told Be that you do not have to use expensive products to create an amazing makeup look.

Aine said: "Just because something is more affordable doesn't make it any less of an amazing product than a high end product. 60% of my kit would be filled with drug store buys.

"It's not about the name or how expensive a product is for it to be good. It's about having the correct tools and knowing the correct way to apply the products with the correct technique then you will have flawless results!"

Hydrating mist for priming before application and setting after - Superdrug Vitamin E Spray, £3.99

(Superdrug)

A great product for multiple uses.

Aine's tip is to use this before highlighter too as it "leaves the skin nice and damp so the highlight melts into the skin".

Foundations - Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation, £6.95

(Just My Look)

A lightweight foundation that delivers a full-coverage matte finish. Aine also likes the hydrating version of this product.

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation, £5.99

(Boots)

Medium coverage foundation and deal for normal to oily skin types with an ultralightweight formula.

Concealer - JCat Beauty Staysurance Hydra Concealer, £11.99

(JCat Beauty/Grainne McCoy Cosmetics)

A light-weight, yet, long lasting concealer that combats dark circles, redness, and any imperfection for a flawless look.

Cream Contour - Colour Me Bootiful Shady Stick , £12.99

(CMB)

A cream contour stick to add instant definition with precise contouring to enhance cheekbones, nose and jawline.

Bronzer - Catrice Cosmetics Sun Glow Matte Bronzing Powder, £3.95

(Just My Look)

An easy-to-blend bronzer that gives the complexion a natural-looking, sun-kissed glow.

Blusher - L'Oréal Paris Blush Powder - Lifes a Peach, £8.99

(Look Fantastic)

A warm, universal shade to suit all skin tones.

Highlight - Catrice Luminice Highlight & Blush Glow Palette, £7.96

(Amazon)

Both the highlighter and bronzer have subtle brightening particles that give the skin a radiant and healthy look.

Peaches & Cream Praline Lip Liner, £3.95

(Peaches & Cream)

Praline is a soft, highly pigmented creamy lip liner with a blendable formula that can be worn all over the lip to make your gloss last longer or to define and line your lips.
