Belfast's oldest library is collecting family stories of Second World War for an exciting digital archive project. The Linen Hall is working with Their Finest Hour, led by the University of Oxford and funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
The history project aims to build a powerful collection of objects, artefacts and personal stories from the Second World War. It will illustrate stories from different aspects of life during the war to provide an insight into life at the time.
People are being asked to bring diaries, letters, photographs, memoirs, objects, or stories about their family’s experience in the war. They will be recorded and added to the online archive.

Founded in 1788, Linen Hall Library today is much more than a library. It is an accredited museum and has a world renowned collection, including 350,000 items in the Northern Ireland Political Collection.
On Saturday (June 17) between 10am and 4pm volunteers will be on hand to welcome visitors. They will help record each story and photograph your objects.
