Belfast hip-hop dancers to compete in European Championships

A group of hip-hop dancers from Belfast are to compete in the European Championships in May.

The 16 dancers from Kollizion Crew are aged between six and 16 and have been working hard on training and fundraising.

Dance instructor Rochelle McParland, from West Belfast, told Belfast Live that the countdown is on.

She said: "Having 16 local dancers from across all areas of Belfast, come together as one force to represent at European Level is amazing.

"The hard work for such opportunity started last year when we prepped our routines for the competition season."

The girls had success at the United Dance Organisation qualifiers.

Rochelle added: "Their faces, and jumps for joy was amazing to see so I thought let's do it.

"The journey has been hard, getting new routines choreographed, dancers trained, costumes designed, the trip booked and fundraising events organised.

"But, the countdown is on and the momentum of it all is pushing us through it."
