Everyone has a reason for running a half marathon, whether it be to raise money for a special cause, to help with general mental and physical well-being or to reach a fitness goal or personal best.
We're pulling together some inspirational stories from our readers and why they're running the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Half Marathon on September 22.

Sarah's Running Story:
I’m running for my own sanity!
I started running shortly after the death of my father when I felt I had no purpose in life anymore.
Having been a wife since ‘94 and Mum since ‘96, then caring for my parents from 2012 until 2016, my teenagers seemed not to need me as much, so I took up running in October 2018.
I started couch to 5k style in the beginners group at Up and Running in Milton Keynes ‘for me’.
My last event was the 54 mile Cateran Yomp in the Cairngorms this June and now that I’ve moved from England to Northern Ireland, I thought why not take on the Belfast Half Marathon?
