A special disco event to help older people across Belfast and beyond who feel lonely and isolated is happening next week.
The Slipped Disco, hosted by Engage with Age charity, is taking place in the Black Box, Belfast and admission is completely free.
Described as a 'good old-fashioned disco' it will feature all the hits from back in the day with DJ Groover on the decks spinning plenty of ABBA, Barry White, Blondie and many more.
The event was the brainchild of an older person who had been attending some of Engage With Age charity's PAL project events who said they wanted to "go out, dance, have a glass of wine, and have fun."
Funded by Comic Relief, the PAL Project is designed to provide opportunities for older people who aren’t getting out enough, or socialising, to get involved in fun activities. The intention is to get connected with other older people, make friends, and enjoy life.
The Slipped Disco event will take place at the Black Box, Belfast on September 2 from 7.30 – 10pm, admission is free although booking is essential which can be arranged by contacting 028 9073 5696.
