Belfast, Crumlin, Dunmurry and Lisburn homes hit by water supply issues

Northern Ireland Water has apologised to customers in Belfast, Crumlin, Dunmurry and Lisburn whose water supply has been interrupted today.

The company have explained that they are working to address the issue but that it may take a little longer to get water back to homes on higher ground.

They said in a series of social media posts: "We're really sorry for the prolonged disruption to some customer water supplies today in the #Belfast #Crumlin, #Dunmurry, and #Lisburn areas (affecting some parts of BT17, BT28, BT29).

"Flows and pressure are gradually returning. Unfortunately properties located on higher ground are experiencing a longer wait for water to come back on as the network recharges.

"Please bear with us during this time and we do appreciate the inconvenience and difficulties this is causing for customers in the area."
