Belfast crime writer Steve Cavanagh's new novel to feature on BBC Two show

A Belfast crime writer has shared his joy after his latest book was been chosen to feature on new BBC Two show, Between The Covers.

Steve Cavanagh, a Belfast-raised lawyer who became an international best-selling writer with his series of crime novels, released his latest book Fifty Fifty, earlier this year.

The novel tells the gripping story of two sisters, both of whom are on trial for murder, and is the latest in Cavanagh's internationally acclaimed Eddie Flynn series.

Now, Cavanagh's book will be the focus of Between The Covers, a new televised book club which will be hosted by Sara Cox.

The show will launch on Friday 9th October and will run as seven 30-minute episodes, covering a different book each week, as well as featuring celebrity guests.

Upon hearing the news today, Steve Cavanagh shared his joy on Twitter, writing: "Absolutely delighted about this. FIFTY FIFTY is part of the Between The Covers book club on BBC 2.

He also thanked his publishers, Orion Books, as well as host Sara Cox.

Steve Cavanagh's new novel Fifty-Fity is out now, via Orion Publishing.
