Pounding the streets of the city for hundreds of brilliant causes, runners took over Belfast for the annual marathon today.
From elite runners to fun runners, the atmosphere was electric as thousands took on the new Belfast City Marathon route leaving from Stormont this morning.
And the competitors were cheered on along the course by thousands of spectators, including loved ones and friends who were there to give support on the 26.2mile course.

It all came to an end in Ormeau Park as exhausted runners crossed the finish line to shouts of joy from well wishers.
It was an emotional day for many taking part as months of training paid off and they joined the tiny proportion of the population who have completed a marathon.
