Belfast City Marathon 2019 winner is Joel Kositany

Joel Kositany has won the 2019 Belfast City Marathon in a time of 2:18:40.

In the process, the Kenyan has netted the £3,000 prize money on offer for the winner for the fourth time.

He has been declared the winner of the 38th Belfast City Marathon at Ormeau Park today.

He was followed by last year's winner Eric Koech who ran the race in 2:18:49. In third place was Bernard Rotich  who completed the marathon in 2:18:52.

The first female runner, Kenyan Caroline Kepchirchir, finished in 2:36:38, the fastest ever finish by a woman in the Belfast City Marathon.
