One of the highlights of the Belfast City Half Marathon is the great effort so many of the runners make to raise money for good causes.
And this year, there are five official charities linked to the event.
They are:
Belfast Arthroplasty Research Trust (BART)
The aim of the charity is to provide funding for various research projects in joint replacement for the benefit of patients in Musgrave Park Hospital and further afield.
Cancer Focus NI
The charity provides care and support services for cancer patients and their families, offering a rage of prevention programmes to help reduce the risk of getting cancer and funding scientific research into the causes and treatment of the disease.
Stroke Association
The charity works to support people through stroke support services, and helps them to rebuild their lives.
Air Ambulance NI
The charity operates an air medical service dedicated to responding to serious trauma emergencies in Northern Ireland.
Action Mental Health
Action Mental Health aims to enhance the quality of life and employability of people with mental health needs or a learning disability.
