Everyone has a reason for running a half marathon, whether it be to raise money for a special cause, to help with general mental and physical well-being or to reach a fitness goal or personal best.
We're pulling together some inspirational stories from our readers on why they ran the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Half Marathon on September 22.

William’s Running Story:
William ran the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Half Marathon on September 22 to help raise money for Reverse Rett. His niece Mia has Rett Syndrome and we as a family try and raise funds to go towards finding a cure for this horrible illness.
Mia is 8 and will never walk, talk or be able to feed herself or do the simplest of tasks we take for granted so this is so important to us as a family to help fund a cure.
The neurological brain disorder has been reversed in the labs on mice and so we hope one day a cure will be in sight for our girl. Mia also has epilepsy and scoliosis which also accompany this horrid gene.
