Thieves broke into two Belfast City Council vans in West Belfast over the weekend.
The vans were targeted on Saturday night, July 13, in the service yard of Falls Park, in the west of the city .
Police said windows were smashed and a tool box had been stolen. Documents had also been looked through in one of the vans.
Inspector Natalie McNally said: "Yesterday (Sunday 14th July), at approximately 6:50am, it was reported that two vehicles parked at premises had been damaged and broken into sometime overnight.
"A window of a white Citroen Relay van had been smashed and a tool box that was inside the vehicle was taken. A window of a blue Ford Transit van was also smashed and documents inside rummaged through. It has not been established if anything was stolen from inside the blue van.
"I want to appeal to anyone who was in the area on Saturday night/Sunday morning and saw any suspicious activity, or who is offered a tool box for sale in suspicious circumstances, to call us on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 489 of 14/07/19."

A Belfast City Council spokesperson said: “Council is aware of an incident in the service yard in Falls Park on Saturday night, 13 July. This was reported to the PSNI and they are investigating the incident.”
