Belfast city centre 'stabbing' incident: Man charged with attempted murder

A man has been charged with attempted murder following an alleged stabbing incident in Belfast city centre yesterday.

Police confirmed on Wednesday that a 24-year-old man has been charged with both attempted murder and “possessing an article or blade in a public place”.

The charge comes after an incident at the Scottish Provident building at Donegall Square West shortly before 2pm on Tuesday.

The police say the man charged is to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court tomorrow morning (Thursday).
