Belfast Celtic unveil new management – and which league they'll play in

The new-look Belfast Celtic will play in the Ballymena Provincial League next season, it's been confirmed.

The West Belfast club, which is absorbing the folding Sport and Leisure Swifts, will come up against near neighbours such as Donegal Celtic and St James Swifts.

And a new management team has been installed with former DC chief Paddy Kelly and ex-Glens midfielder Stephen McAlorum assuming the controls.

A Celtic spokesman said: "They will run the football side of the club including the first team and oversee the appointment of a second team manager.

"Stephen has had an illustrious playing career with Donegal Celtic, Glentoran , Ballymena United and Sport and Leisure.

"Paddy likewise has been very successful as a coach with Crumlin United and Donegal Celtic.

"We are looking forward to some exciting times ahead with this dynamic pair in charge. The future's bright, the future's green and white."

Belfast Celtic will take the place of Bangor in the Ballymena PIL where they'll also come up against former Irish League sides in the shape of Glebe Rangers, Coagh United, Brantwood and Ballymoney United.
