A Belfast building is set to be knocked down to make way for 54 new apartments.
Westgate House, on the corner of Castle Street and Queen Street, will be demolished as plans for the new home and retail unit were given the green light by councillors on Tuesday.
It comes after the area was devastated following the Primark fire at Bank Buildings in August 2018.
Permission was granted for the demolition of the existing building and construction of 54 new apartments with associated landscaping and ground floor retail unit.
SDLP Belfast City Centre councillor Gary McKeown welcomed the news and said it would help "revitalise" the area.
"The Castle Street area was particularly badly hit by the Primark fire, so this investment will bring people into the neighbourhood to live and help revitalise it," he added.
"Belfast city centre has a particularly low number of people living in it, so creating homes in the area will diversify and enhance it, supporting businesses and breathing new life into old spaces.
"It will also help reduce commuting into the city centre by enabling people to live closer to where they work."
