Belfast assault leaves man in hospital with serious injuries

A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being assaulted in Belfast in the early hours.

Just before 1.45am on Friday, August 13, police received a report that a 42-year-old was assaulted in Arthur Square.

He was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening at this stage.

Police are now appealing to anyone who was in the area for information. or who might have dash cam footage.

Sergeant Rooney said: "We are particularly keen to speak to two young women who were in the area at the time.

"We would like to make it clear that they are not suspects and we believe they may have information that could help with our enquiries."

Anyone who was in the area at the time or who might have dash cam footage is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference 92 of 13/08/21.
