John Millar reckons that Beith should be winning at least one major trophy a season.
The Mighty boss was delighted his side bagged the West of Scotland Cup and refuses to be downbeat about failing to retain their West Region Premiership title.
He said: “The last few seasons we have won one of the big three trophies, which is good.
“But that’s where we are right now —if we don’t win at least one then it will be classed as a poor season.
“It was disappointing not to win the league again, but we were playing in the senior Scottish Cup too, so we fell behind in fixtures — it was hard.
“I’m not saying we don’t want to be in it, of course we do, but Hurlford had an incredible start leaving us miles behind. Then Auchinleck did the job, so fair play to them.
“The aim is to try and get back to the top of the tree, it won’t be easy as teams are strengthening, but we will give it our best shot.”
Millar hopes that the additions of Sean McIlroy (Auchinleck), Gary Fisher (Albion Rovers), Lawrence McMahon (Albion Rovers) and Ross McKenzie (Irvine Vics) will help his side get over the line again.
He said: “It’s hard to get players who will start for us as the boys have done so well, but hopefully we have signed correctly.”
