Beith Juniors appoint manager Bryan Young as new era at Bellsdale begins

Beith Juniors have today appointed Bryan Young as the club's new manager.

The former Auchinleck Talbot star replaces Johnny Millar in the Bellsdale dugout and officially takes charge from Monday.

Young will be assisted by Derek McCulloch and Chris Friel with the Beith committee wasting no time in finding a replacement following Millar's resignation on Monday night.

However, it will be a watching brief for Young tomorrow with Steven Convery, Derek Rhoddan and Tam Miller in charge for the Junior Cup fifth round trip to Aberdeen's Stoneywood-Parkvale.

A Beith Juniors club statement released tonight read: "Beith Juniors are delighted to welcome our new management team of Bryan Young, assisted by Derek McCulloch and Chris Friel.

"Butch was one of the most decorated players in Junior Football, Del needs no introduction to The Mighty fans and Chris worked with Butch coaching Pollok Youths. They will be in charge as of Monday coming.

"We are sure that all Beith fans will get right behind what is a bold and exciting appointment, but firstly, and most importantly, support Stevie, Deco, Tam and the players in our Scottish Cup tie tomorrow."

Young's first match in charge of 12th-placed Beith will be the West Region Premiership visit to Clydebank on Saturday, February 1.
