The decision of the US Supreme Court to ban discrimination against gay or transgender workers has shone a spotlight on the treatment of LGBT+ people in the workplace. Many members of these communities find it more difficult to get a job or be promoted, while others regularly face homophobic or transphobic comments where they work.
A recent survey in France found that one in four LGBT+ people have experienced homophobic or transphobic attacks at work. Christophe Margaine from "Autre Cercle" (the Other Circle), which commissioned the study, tells us how employers can do better.
Meanwhile, new research from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has shown that its members have only passed an average of 53 percent of laws which are inclusive to the LGBT+ community. Marie-Anne Valfort, who leads research into LGBTI issues at the OECD, joins us to tell about the effect pro-equality laws can have on society.
