Beijing Reports Two New Covid-19 Cases

The Information Office of the Beijing Municipal People's Government holds a press conference on Covid-19 Friday.

New cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the city of Beijing among two colleagues who worked in the suburb of Fengtai, the official CCTV said Friday, a day after the city reported its first new case of the virus in nearly two months.

One case involved a 25-year-old man surnamed Liu and the other a 37-year-old man surnamed Yin, CCTV said. The former had recently traveled to the coastal city of Qingdao, while the latter had no travel history over the last two weeks outside Beijing.

News of the two new cases came a day after Beijing reported its first coronavirus case since mid-April. That case involved a 52-year-old patient who said he had not been outside the capital in the past two weeks.
