Director Zack Snyder on Wednesday teased a new ‘tactical suit’ Batman will be wearing in the upcoming Justice League film.
Snyder tweeted the image, in which a shadowy Batman, played by Ben Affleck, seems to be standing in the Javelin (the Justice League’s jet), surrounded by sparks and flanked by what looks like the Batmobile.

The suit is both new and familiar. New in the sense that it’s quite the departure from the one Affleck wore in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which was directly inspired by Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns comic.

This one however, is very similar to the suit Christian Bale wore in the final two Dark Knight films by Christopher Nolan. It’s armoured, made up of smaller pieces and most notably, comes with its own set of goggles.

The goggles, and especially the cowl, are earning this new suit comparisons to Nite Owl’s costume from Zack Snyder’s Watchmen. And since Nite Own was a character inspired by Batman, it’s not too big of a stretch.
In addition to revealing this image, Zack Snyder also informed fans that it was Affleck’s last day filming in the new ‘tactical suit’.
Justice League, the fourth film in the DC Extended Universe, also stars, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Ezra Miller as Flash, Henry Cavill as Superman and JK Simmons as Commissioner Gordon. It has been slated for a November 2017 release.
