Behind the scenes of Indiana Jones movie being filmed in Glasgow

Filming is underway for the new Indiana Jones film - and Scotland is playing a starring role in it.

The fifth instalment of the film franchise sees Harrison Ford return in his starring role for the first time since 2008.

Stars such as Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Mads Mikkelsen will also be making an appearance in the blockbuster movie.

And the streets of Glasgow have been turned into a 60s America - with US flags and old style traffic lights installed throughout the city.

Eager locals have been rushing down to the set to get a sneak peek of what’s going on.

For those a little far away from the action, our sister title Glasgow Live have been able to get some behind the scenes pictures of their own.

Hundreds of extras were on set wearing 60s style hair dos and 70s style flared jeans and collared shirts - everyone looks very hip and cool.

Actors were walking excitedly into the city chambers, which looked to be used as a sort of university campus, including one who looked to be the body double of Harrison Ford, wearing a cast on his leg.

Huge American style cars are parked along the street, and extras mooched around eating their lunch under old signs and shopfronts.

The next instalment of the Indiana Jones series is expected to be released next year.
