Behind the scenes at Nottingham Forest’s pre-season training camp in Spain

Manager Sabri Lamouchi has been busy getting to know his new Nottingham Forest players at the Reds training camp in Spain as he prepares for life in the Championship.

After Monday’s 0-0 draw with Scottish Championship side Dundee at the Pinatar Stadium in Murcia, the Reds were back on the training pitch at their La Finca base, with the Frenchman getting stuck into training with his squad.

Lamouchi was only appointed last Friday, with his arrival coming the same day Martin O’Neill was relieved of his duties and within 24 hours, the former French international was watching his new players in action for the first time this summer at non-league Alfreton - and he's wasted no time in making an impression.

Forest had been set to face Peterborough United on Saturday at the Pinatar Stadium, but Lamouchi opted to cancel that game with Posh, with the Reds hosting an open training session for fans instead.

And the ex-Rennes boss is keen to use the remaining time in Murcia to get to know his players before they return to England on Saturday night.

“I want to get to know everyone at the club as soon as possible,” said Lamouchi, who took charge of his first game on Monday night, as Forest drew with Dundee.

“It is important to get to know everyone at the club and what they are doing - and to introduce myself and my staff.

“It is new for me, but it is new also for the people already here; who have been working here for many years.

We need to understand quickly; very fast, what we want.

“It is the same for the players. They need to know the ethos of the manager and the way I want to work.

"We do not have time to lose on that front.”
